We’re looking for people to join our dynamic, high-energy team to create breakthrough, happy dancing, high-fiving, “I did it” moments by teaching kids all about biking.
The Camp Operations Coordinator supports recruiting, onboarding, and daily camp operations to ensure high-quality programs aligned with Pedalheads standards. This seasonal role runs March 23 – August 31, with schedules potentially shifting from Monday–Friday to Sunday–Thursday during active camp months. This role requires frequent travel between camp sites located within our operating region, generally bounded by Alexandria, Rockville, Petworth, and Capitol Hill during Spring Break and summer camp seasons.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment
- Support staffing plans, post jobs, screen applicants, and conduct interviews
- Recruit instructors and volunteers through job boards, events, schools, and community outreach
- Coordinate onboarding paperwork, staff lists, and training logistics
Camp Operations
- Support camp staff, provide feedback, and ensure safety and policy compliance
- Visit camp locations regularly and assist with scheduling or staffing gaps
- Organize equipment, oversee site setup, and maintain host relationships
- Step in for Camp Managers when needed
Customer Experience
- Engage with campers and families onsite
- Address concerns promptly and promote positive communication
Qualifications
- 2+ years supervisory experience in camps, youth programs, or similar teams
- Experience working with children ages 3–8
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license, First Aid certification, and ability to travel locally
- Background check required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work for extended periods while standing and being physically active.
- Confidence riding a bicycle whilst leading groups of riders on and off the road and teaching general bike-handling skills.
Assets
- Preferred degree in Education, Sports Management or related field or equivalent education and experience or equivalent in professional experience
- Supervisory and/or hiring experience, especially with ages 15-25
Work Dates: March 23, 2026 - August 31, 2026
Wage: $23-26/hr
