Long standing banquet catering hall facility, specializing in on-premise events and parties, is in search of a Prep Cook/Garde Manger. The individual must be reliable, responsible, have exceptional work ethic and a positive and professional attitude.
Experience in the restaurant/catering industry is a plus when applying, but not required. Applicants must be available to work on weekends (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays), must be fluent in English and will be required to complete a W-9.
Job responsibilities include:
- Preparation and storing of cold foods such as salads, meats and cheeses
- Presentation and display of select dishes and food items
- Knife skills - cutting, chopping, carving, dicing
- Ability to fill-in at other stations when chefs are absent
- Able to work in a team-oriented environment and under considerable stress
- Responsible for station hygiene and sanitation
- May be required to assist with menu development, especially use of leftovers
