Job Title: Patient Service Coordinator
Location: Salem, Virginia
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Full-Time)
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
Position Type: Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking a professional and dependable Patient Service Coordinator to join a busy medical clinic in Salem, VA. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front office experience. The ideal candidate has prior medical receptionist experience, strong computer skills, and a commitment to patient-centered service.

Key Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors promptly, courteously, and professionally
Check in patients and notify clinical staff of patient arrival
Provide and explain required paperwork prior to examination
Collect, review for completeness, and file patient forms
Update patient demographics and insurance information accurately in the system
Communicate messages accurately and in a timely manner according to established procedures
Schedule follow-up appointments in accordance with physician and office guidelines
Maintain adequate supplies of forms and office materials needed for daily operations
Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards

Education & Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of twelve (12) months of front medical office receptionist experience required
Experience working with insurance forms and scheduling software required

Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Strong computer and data entry skills
Excellent customer service and communication abilities
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Proven track record of strong attendance and reliability
