Position Summary
We are seeking an Accountant to support daily and monthly accounting operations and help ensure accurate financial records. This role is responsible for reconciliations, compliance activities, and proper accounting treatment across cash, prepaid expenses, customer deposits, sales tax, labor, fixed assets, inventory, and credit cards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily and monthly cash reconciliations and banking activities
- Record ACH, wire, and credit card transactions accurately and timely
- Maintain prepaid expense, prepaid inventory, and fixed asset schedules
- Reconcile customer deposits and assigned balance sheet accounts
- Prepare and file 1099s and sales tax returns
- Support labor accounting, including overtime adjustments
- Process credit card payments and perform monthly reconciliations
- Assist with month-end close and internal control procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
- Experience with sales tax filings and 1099 preparation
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ERP or accounting software systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong internal control mindset
Work Environment
- On-site role with regular interaction with banking and accounting systems
- Periodic deadlines tied to month-end close and compliance filings
