Position Details:

Job Title: Drug Manufacturing Technician (Sample Handler/Accessioner/ Sorter)

Job Location: Gretna, LA 70053

Job Duration: 03+ month contract on W2 (possibility of extension/conversion)

Pay Rate: $14.00/hr. on W2

Shift Hours: Mon- Fri 7 AM - 3:30 PM

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, open, and verify specimens delivered to the laboratory for analysis.
• Review and document the acceptability of specimens and associated chain of custody forms.
• Sort and distribute specimens to appropriate departments.
• Aliquot samples, label correctly, and prepare for further testing or shipment.
• Remove and store presumptive positive samples in refrigerated/freezer areas.
• Retrieve samples from storage for re-aliquot or confirmation testing as needed.
• Destroy specimens according to lab protocols and assist in freezer cleanout processes.
• Clean and maintain work areas and ensure safe handling and disposal of all materials.
• Process courier deliveries and triage requests accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure all samples and documents are removed from trash following sorting/aliquoting.
• Maintain compliance with all confidentiality, safety, and company policies.

Core Competencies:

• Basic understanding of laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment.
• Basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
