Position Overview: Project Manager

Reports to: Director of Programs and Corporate Development

Overview

Betis Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead and manage IT services and professional services projects in the GSA & SLED (State, Local, Education) sector. This individual will be responsible for driving successful project execution, maintaining client satisfaction, and contributing to business development efforts. The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive, and strategic leader with a strong background in project management within government and education sectors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage assigned projects and programs on a daily basis, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Support business development efforts tied to assigned projects/programs, including growing existing accounts and identifying new opportunities.
  • Serve as a visible, accountable leader for project delivery, fostering strong client relationships and internal team collaboration.
  • Collaborate with internal leadership to promote best practices, methodologies, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and track progress against project milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules to ensure alignment with client deadlines.
  • Conduct biweekly or monthly status meetings with clients and internal teams to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
  • Partner with Sales to grow the services business, targeting at least a 10% increase in new business annually.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing Statements of Work (SOWs) and responding to RFPs.
  • Present the company’s project management methodology and services to prospective clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field—or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in IT services, IT operations, or professional services.
  • Strong experience working within the State, Local, and Education (SLED) markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and technical resources concurrently.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex IT solutions and managing stakeholder expectations.

Skills and Qualifications

  • US Citizenship Required
  • Strong project planning and execution skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and customer relationship management skills.
  • Capable of managing both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to lead project update meetings and clearly articulate project status to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong leadership qualities with a focus on team motivation and accountability.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting business/technical documents and regulations.
  • Skilled in drafting reports, business correspondence, and professional presentations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), MS Project, MS Project Server, and SharePoint.

Certifications

  • PMP Certification (Preferred; or must obtain within 6 months of hire—tuition reimbursement up to $2,500 annually).
  • Active PMI membership is desirable/preferred.

Location & Travel

  • This position is remotely based out of our McLean, VA office.
  • Limited travel could occur to pre-approved national metro offices (1–3 trips per quarter, approx. 5%).
  • All associated travel costs will be reimbursed in accordance with Betis Group’s Travel and Expense Report policies.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary range of $92,000 - $110,000
