Compensation
- Salary: $130,000 – $140,000 annually

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with a strong background in inpatient cardiology to join our growing cardiovascular team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable independently evaluating and managing cardiac patients in both hospital and outpatient settings while collaborating closely with cardiologists to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
- Provide comprehensive inpatient cardiology care, averaging 10–15 patients per day.
- Conduct detailed physical examinations and formulate evidence-based treatment plans.
- Interpret electrocardiograms (EKGs) with a high level of proficiency.
- Prescribe medications and coordinate ongoing cardiac management.
- Perform and interpret cardiac stress testing (training available if needed).
- Collaborate with cardiologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Facilitate referrals and coordinate continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with regulatory standards.
- Participate in hospital credentialing and insurance enrollment processes.
Required Qualifications
- Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in New Jersey.
- Active NJ DEA, CDS, and applicable certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of cardiology experience as an NP or PA (RN experience alone does not qualify).
- Experience independently evaluating and treating cardiac patients.
- Strong expertise in EKG interpretation.
- Prior critical care experience is required.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment and manage patient care autonomously.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing cardiac stress testing independently (preferred but not required).
- Hospitalist experience with significant exposure to cardiac patients may be considered.
- Familiarity with hospital credentialing and payer enrollment processes.
Additional Information
- This is a growth opportunity with an established cardiology practice.
- No relocation assistance is available.
- Employment is contingent upon successful hospital and insurance credentialing, which may take several months.
- Candidates must provide documentation of prior malpractice coverage (including tail coverage if applicable).
