About us:
Senior Psych Care provides fully integrative behavioral health services to the long-term care patient, at their facility. Services include individual, family, and grouptherapies;along with diagnostic evaluation and collaborative intervention between the therapy team and the psychiatric team. Our multi-disciplinary team realizes that older adults have special physical, emotional, and social needs. The psychiatrist leads a team of nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and psychotherapists (LCSW, PhD/PsyD),takea comprehensive approach to diagnosis and treatment.
Job Description:
ThePatient Care Coordinator works within the Referral Department and is primarily responsible for securing referral paperwork from nursing homes and creating andmaintainingthe schedule for Psychology and Psychiatry providers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verifyingpatientsinsurance coverage with Medicare,Medicaidand Managed Care Organizations.
- Obtaining pre-authorizations from Managed Care Organizations.
- Answer incoming andmakeoutgoing calls to secure referrals andauthorizationsfrom providers and insurance companies.
- Ensure that referrals are addressed accurately and ina timelyfashion.
- Ensureall authorizations are properly documented in the system.
- Scanning documents into the EMR system.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years experience with Medical Insurance Processes.
- Experience verifyingpatientsinsurance coverage with Medicare,Medicaidand Managed Care Organizations.
- Experience obtaining pre-authorizations from Managed Care Organizations.
- Able to multi-task,personable, and have excellent customer service skills.
- Self-starter with a positive teamwork attitude, wellorganizedand detail oriented.
- Strong working knowledge of Outlook, MS Word and MS Excelrequired;advanced skills in MS Excel preferred.
