Job Title: Head of Mortgage Originations
Location: Farmingdale, NY - Hybrid position
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $225,000 – $325,000 base + annual incentive

Position Summary
A leading financial institution is seeking a seasoned executive to lead its mortgage originations division. This role is responsible for overseeing mortgage sales, production quality, and strategic growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in residential lending, a strong leadership presence, and a proven ability to drive performance across geographically dispersed teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership

Direct all aspects of mortgage originations, including sales performance, production oversight, and quality control.

Develop and execute annual business plans aligned with corporate objectives and market opportunities.
Team Management

Lead, mentor, and support sales managers and mortgage loan originators to build a high-performing, referral-driven sales force.

Expand and manage the organization’s third-party origination (TPO) platform.
Recruitment & Expansion

Design and implement recruitment strategies to support market growth.

Hire, develop, and retain top-tier mortgage professionals to meet business goals.
Compliance & Risk

Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, including GSE and investor guidelines.

Monitor market trends and proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with mortgage lending.
Market Visibility

Represent the organization in industry associations and community events to enhance visibility and promote mortgage solutions.
Product Strategy

Collaborate with senior leadership and marketing to identify growth opportunities, develop new products, and support go-to-market strategies.

Contribute to the creation of marketing materials and sales training programs.
Member/Client Experience

Foster a service-oriented culture focused on delivering exceptional experiences to borrowers and partners.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Promote strong collaboration between sales and operations teams to ensure service quality and risk management.
Qualifications
-
Experience:
-
10+ years of progressive experience in residential mortgage lending, including FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA and private investor channels.

At least 5 years in a senior leadership role with responsibility for business planning and execution.

Proven success in sales program development and team leadership within a financial institution.
