An opportunity is available for a paraprofessional to support a classroom in an early childhood center serving children ages 3-4 in the Wilkes Barre, PA area (zip code 18702). This contract position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8:45 AM to 3:15 PM, supporting a positive and structured learning environment.
Key responsibilities include assisting with toileting duties, supporting virtual speech sessions, and collaborating closely with the classroom teacher to ensure student engagement and developmental progress. This role does not involve managing severe behaviors and benefits from having a teacher present in the classroom to provide guidance.
Qualified candidates will have documented experience working with early childhood students and the ability to perform instructional support duties effectively. We are open to applicants with PCA certification who have strong references and relevant experience, although preference will be given to those holding an Instructional Assistant credential or relevant degree as outlined in qualification standards.
Applicants must provide at least one recent manager reference completed within the past 2-3 years. Early childhood experience is essential, and candidates should be capable of facilitating virtual speech sessions alongside standard paraprofessional duties.
