About the Role:

The Fleet Broker Assistance role is pivotal in supporting the efficient coordination and management of freight transportation between shippers and carriers across the United States. This position focuses on facilitating communication, managing logistics data, and ensuring timely and accurate execution of freight brokerage operations. The successful candidate will work closely with fleet brokers to optimize load assignments, track shipments, and resolve any issues that arise during transit. By maintaining strong relationships with carriers and clients, the role contributes to enhancing service quality and operational efficiency. Ultimately, this position ensures that freight moves smoothly through the supply chain, meeting customer expectations and company standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of freight brokerage and transportation logistics.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) or freight brokerage software.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and freight industry standards.
  • Customer service experience within a logistics or transportation setting.
  • Ability to analyze data to support decision-making and operational improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist fleet brokers in coordinating and scheduling freight shipments with carriers.
  • Maintain accurate records of load details, carrier information, and shipment status in logistics management systems.
  • Communicate proactively with carriers and clients to provide updates, resolve issues, and confirm delivery schedules.
  • Support the negotiation of rates and terms between shippers and carriers under broker supervision.
  • Monitor shipment progress and troubleshoot delays or discrepancies to ensure timely delivery.
  • Prepare and process necessary documentation such as bills of lading, contracts, and invoices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline operations and improve customer satisfaction.

In this role, strong communication skills are essential for liaising between fleet brokers, carriers, and clients to ensure clear and timely information exchange. Organizational skills are used daily to manage multiple shipments, maintain accurate records, and prioritize tasks effectively.
