Position Title: Human Resources Generalist

Classification: A 06-09 ($24.01 - $25.45 - $26.89 - $28.31) | Hours: 40 per week

Reporting To: Human Resources Director

Positions Supervised: None

Role Overview:

The Human Resources Generalist provides confidential support to the Director of Human Resources in creating an atmosphere that is approachable to all employees, promotes positive employee relations, and allows our people to do their best work in helping to make a difference within the communities we serve.


Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition/Recruiting

  • Ensure a positive and engaging experience for all candidates.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain top talent.
  • Perform reference and background checks.
  • Maintain accurate information within the HRIS system and personnel records.
  • Facilitate Onboarding/Offboarding activities and orientation.

Employee Relations/Engagement

  • Uphold a positive work environment through trust, open communication, and transparency, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of our employees.
  • Help advance and implement reward & recognition and wellbeing programs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing the performance management process.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies.
  • Assist in helping to resolve disputes, address grievances, and prevent escalation of conflicts.

Training and Development

  • Assist in the design and delivery of employee growth and development programs.
  • Manage the training system and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

Compensation/Benefits Administration

  • Ensure all employment offers are made in line with the role and pay classification.
  • Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits, and assist with annual open enrollment.
  • Answer employee questions concerning compensation and benefits programs and provide support.

Compliance

  • Maintain HR records for accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Assist in audits and compliance reporting.
  • Assist in reviewing, updating, and creating HR policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of human resources experience.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems.
  • Working knowledge of labor laws and compliance standards.
  • Satisfactory review of Criminal History Check, Central Registry Clearance (DHHS), and fingerprinting.
