Job DescriptionSalary: $30 +/hour BOE

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Master Goldsmith to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring expert craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a passion for fine jewelry to our customer-focused environment. As a Master Goldsmith, you will be responsible for performing high-quality jewelry repairs, custom work, and fabrication using traditional and modern techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced jewelry repairs including resizing, soldering, stone setting, prong re-tipping, polishing, and refinishing.
  • Fabricate custom pieces from concept to completion, working closely with customers and design staff.
  • Assess and estimate the scope and cost of repair and custom work.
  • Use hand tools and modern machinery (e.g., laser welders, polishers, rolling mills) with expert precision.
  • Inspect and maintain tools and workstations to ensure safety and optimal functionality.
  • Maintain quality standards and follow store procedures for handling high-value items.
  • Collaborate with sales associates to ensure customer specifications and expectations are met.
  • Keep detailed records of repairs, materials used, and production timelines.
  • Mentor junior bench jewelers, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a bench jeweler, with at least 35 years at the master level.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level of experience with references of industry professionals.
  • Proven expertise in goldsmithing, including working with gold, platinum, silver, and alternative metals.
  • Strong knowledge of gemstone handling and setting techniques (e.g., bezel, prong, channel, pave).
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software is a plus.
  • Exceptional hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and manual dexterity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., JA Certified Bench Jeweler, GIA training) are preferred.
