Job DescriptionDescription:JOB SUMMARY:
The Designer - Interiors position reports directly to the Senior Design Director.
The Designer- Interiors is responsible for designing efficient, comfortable, safe, and visually pleasing spaces for clients with direction from Design Directors, Senior Project Designers, and other project leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Participate in developing and planning design concepts of interior environments in collaboration with the project team.
· Research and select furniture, finishes and lighting specifications.
· Prepare design development presentations, including furniture presentations. Knowledge of communicating design concepts to clients to communicate design direction.
· Utilize technical knowledge experience to participate in the creation of Construction Document sets for permit, pricing, and construction.
· Review shop drawings, lighting, finishes and submittals for approval.
· Correspond daily with vendors and contractors regarding orders and project updates.
· Assist project team with consultants, supplier, trade coordination, MEP engineers and AV/IT Consultants, and other trades on project updates as it pertains to the project design.
· Support senior design team with research, data collection, larger design endeavors for big projects and presentation assembly as required.
· Comfortable speaking with clients, managing presentations in-house and for clients
Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements:EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or architecture; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· 3-5 years of experience in Interior Design.
· Experience in furniture and finishes selection, specification, procurement and leveling of bids.
· Experience with construction administration. LEED, NCIDQ, IIDA certifications are preferred
