Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technologist – Blood Bank
Location: Jamaica, NY
Type: Contract (9 Weeks)
Shift & Schedule: Monday – Friday | 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM | 40 Hours Per Week
Pay Rate:
Local: $2,400 - $2,500 Weekly
Travel: $2,900 - $3,100 Weekly
Duration: 9 Weeks (With High Possibility of Extension or Permanent Placement)

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist – Blood Bank for an exciting Contract job in Jamaica, NY.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing and analysis in the Blood Bank department.

• Conduct blood typing, crossmatching, antibody screening, and compatibility testing.

• Process and prepare blood products for transfusion.

• Ensure compliance with laboratory quality control and quality assurance procedures.

• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.

• Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.

• Adhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate test results.

• Participate in proficiency testing and continuous quality improvement activities.

• Ensure proper specimen handling, processing, and storage procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited Clinical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science program.

• Valid New York State Education Department (NYSED) Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (License Code 092).

• Primary Source Verification of NYSED License.

• Minimum 1 year of Clinical Laboratory Technologist experience in a Blood Bank setting.

• Minimum 1 year of Blood Bank experience.

• Strong understanding of transfusion medicine and blood bank procedures.

• Experience performing blood typing, crossmatching, and transfusion-related testing.

• Ability to work independently and effectively in a hospital laboratory environment.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field.

• BLS Certification.

• Experience working in an acute care or hospital laboratory setting.

• Strong understanding of laboratory safety, quality control, and quality assurance standards.
