Position: Bartender

FLSA: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Schedule: This part-time position will be located at the Augustine Institute in Florissant, Missouri

Reporting to: Food and Beverage Director

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and friendly bartender to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about customer service, knowledgeable about a wide range of beverages, and capable of creating a welcoming atmosphere for patrons. As a bartender, you will be responsible for preparing and serving drinks, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring guests have a positive experience.

Responsibilities:

· Greet customers and take drink orders

· Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes

· Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner

· Check identification to ensure customers meet minimum age requirements for alcohol consumption

· Monitor customer behavior and consumption to ensure a safe and responsible environment

· Maintain a clean and organized bar area

· Manage bar inventory, restock supplies, and notify management of shortages

· Handle cash, credit card transactions, and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system

· Follow all food and beverage regulations and health and safety guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a bartender or in a similar hospitality role
  • Knowledge of beer, wine, and cocktail recipes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
  • Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS or local equivalent) is a plus


Working Conditions:

  • Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are typically required
  • Standing for long periods and lifting moderate loads (e.g., cases of bottles, kegs)
  • High-energy, customer-facing environment
