Job Description: Audiologist - Peridot, AZ

Position Type: Part-Time (3 Days a Week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Preferred)

Qualifications:

• Degree from an accredited Audiology program (AuD, Master’s, or Doctoral (Ph.D.)).

• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCA) preferred.

• Current, unrestricted, and valid State license to practice in Arizona preferred.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations, synthesizing overall findings and diagnosing patients through thorough history-taking and appropriate tests.

• Administer and interpret various screening, assessment, and diagnostic procedures, including air conduction, bone conduction, speech audiometry, and acoustic emittance (impedance) tests.

• Design and implement rehabilitation programs to assist patients in sound identification.

• Measure hearing ability and assess the severity of hearing loss in individuals of all ages.

• Evaluate the benefit of amplification devices, such as hearing aids, to enhance patient care.

• Provide education to individuals regarding the use, care, and maintenance of hearing aids or other assistive listening devices.

• Maintain knowledge and proficiency in the field through continuing education, participation in staff meetings, and attending relevant workshops.

• Engage in departmental orientation, on-the-job training, and quality assurance programs/initiatives.

• Participate actively in various departmental and hospital educational programs to ensure current skills and competency levels, discussing any performance or training needs with a supervisor.

• Perform additional duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient understanding of the methods, practices, and techniques within the field of Audiology.

• Strong skills in assessment, evaluation, and treatment of individuals.

• Effective listening and communication abilities.

• Competent in making diagnoses and choosing, initiating, and modifying therapies.

• Capable of working with patients across diverse age groups.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements rapidly.

• Critical thinking skills applied for the proper escalation and triage to appropriate healthcare professionals.

• Ability to communicate complex practices, techniques, and procedures in lay terms for patient understanding.

• Capable of managing frequent interruptions while maintaining focus on essential tasks.

Work Environment:

• Work is primarily conducted in a healthcare clinic with extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking.

• Requires visual acuity and manual dexterity for daily desktop computer use; involves bending, lifting, reaching, stooping, and lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds.

• Regularly works in an environment with rapidly changing and often conflicting priorities while supporting leadership needs and requirements.
