· Required Skills
o Proficient with MIL-STD cable fabrication with the capability to assemble/solder communications cabling, RF cabling, power, networking, and other multi conductor cabling
o Capability to read and understand technical documentation, cable assembly drawings and schematics for complex or multi-system architecture.
o Experience configuring, operating, and troubleshooting a variety of current fielded USMC communications systems.
o A solid understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and related codes
o Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are essential for diagnosing and fixing electrical issues.
o Working knowledge of tactical communications best practices for vehicle integration:
§ Grounding/Bonding
§ Cable management
§ Component installation/removal
§ Electrical safety
§ System Troubleshooting
o Familiarity with technical content required to produce the following technical documents and/or USMC publications:
§ Modification Instructions (MIs)
§ Technical Instructions (TIs)
§ Technical Manuals (TMs)
§ Component Parts List / SL-3
§ Bill of Materials (BOM)
§ Interface Control Document (ICD)
o Proficiency with hand tools and familiarity with electrical equipment and testing instruments are necessary
§ Understanding of safe operation of shop hand tools and power tools.
§ A strong understanding of electrical safety practices and regulations is paramount.
o Experience with operation of RF test equipment for maintenance and troubleshooting
§ Insulation tester resistance meter (Megger)
§ Multi-meter
o Effective communication with clients, supervisors, and other team members is vital.
o Ability to lift, climb, and work in confined spaces, so physical fitness and dexterity are important.
· Desired Skills
o Operational knowledge of USMC voice and data modes of communication to include UHF, VHF, HF, SATCOM, SINCGARS, ANW2
o Operational knowledge of the USMC Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV)
o Experience with configuring, operating, and troubleshooting USMC voice and data radios and vehicular radio configurations, specifically:
§ RT-2034C, AN/VRC-138
§ RT-2060
o Experience with configuring, operating, and troubleshooting Harris RF-7800i Inter Communications Set (ICS).
o Experience with configuration, operating, and troubleshooting the Joint Battle Command - Platform (JBC-P) / Mounted Family of Computer Systems (MFoCS)
o Attended MIL-STD-2003 training and IPC 620 Certified
