Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Payroll Administrator to support a leading construction organization through a contract assignment. This role is ideal for a payroll specialist who can manage high-volume, multi-state payroll with accuracy while adapting quickly to established systems and a fast-moving work environment. The position will partner with internal teams to ensure timely pay processing, respond to employee questions, and help strengthen payroll procedures through clear documentation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
• Administer bi-weekly payroll for both salaried and hourly employees, ensuring all payments are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Manage payroll activities across multiple states, applying appropriate tax withholdings and meeting jurisdiction-specific compliance standards.
• Enter, review, and reconcile payroll data within Oracle Cloud, UKG Pro, and related payroll platforms to maintain dependable records.
• Investigate discrepancies in earnings, deductions, time reporting, and tax setup, resolving issues before payroll is finalized.
• Serve as a point of contact for payroll-related questions from corporate and field employees, providing timely and effective support.
• Work closely with payroll and internal business partners to refine workflows, improve efficiency, and maintain consistent processing practices.
• Create and update payroll process documentation to support team knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
• Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and data validation activities to help ensure internal accuracy and regulatory compliance.• At least 5 years of hands-on payroll experience, including full-cycle payroll processing responsibilities.
• Demonstrated success handling multi-state payroll in a deadline-driven environment.
• Working knowledge of payroll compliance requirements, including tax and reporting considerations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience using payroll and HRIS platforms such as UKG Pro and Oracle Cloud.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors, reconcile data, and maintain accurate records.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to support employees and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
