Job Description

The Warehouse Worker accurately picks and packs customer orders, prepares shipments, and supports general shipping and receiving operations in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role focuses on order accuracy, safe material handling, and consistent reliability while working closely with a small team to keep inventory organized and orders flowing on time.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and pack customer orders accurately using packing slips and internal order information.
  • Build boxes, package products securely, and prepare shipments for delivery according to packing instructions.
  • Wrap and band pallets securely to ensure safe transport and minimize damage during shipping.
  • Stage completed orders and pallets in designated areas for carrier pickup or internal transfer.
  • Organize inventory locations and assist with restocking, stock rotation, and maintaining accurate stock levels.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness by sweeping, cleaning shelves, and keeping work areas tidy and free of hazards.
  • Navigate warehouse aisles using an alphanumeric system to locate, pick, and return items efficiently.
  • Support shipping and receiving tasks, including labeling, documentation, and verifying incoming and outgoing orders.
  • Use basic computer programs such as Excel, Outlook, and internal tracking systems to update order status, manage inventory, and communicate with team members.
  • Handle loading and unloading of materials, including manual lifting and use of material handling tools as needed.
  • Operate or assist with the use of RF scanners to pick, track, and confirm inventory movements.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines while performing material handling, order picking, and warehouse inventory activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily productivity goals and ensure orders ship accurately and on time.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in a warehouse environment preferred, with a focus on picking, packing, and shipping and receiving.
  • Proven reliability and strong attendance record in previous roles.
  • Experience with order picking, packing slips, and basic shipping and receiving processes.
  • Ability to lift and move boxes and materials up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Comfortable working on your feet for the entire shift and navigating warehouse aisles.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Excel, Outlook, and internal tracking systems.
  • Ability to use RF scanners for picking and inventory control, or willingness to learn.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when following packing instructions and handling documentation.
  • Ability to read and write in English to follow instructions, labels, and complete paperwork.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and willingness to assist where needed.
  • Experience with inventory, inventory control, and warehouse inventory processes.
  • Familiarity with material handling, loading, and unloading activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a warehouse worker handling picking, packing, and shipping and receiving tasks.
  • Exposure to forklift operations or other warehouse equipment is beneficial.
  • Experience using RF scanners for order picking and inventory tracking.
  • Experience in packaging and palletizing, including wrapping and banding pallets.
  • Comfort working in a small team environment and contributing to shared goals.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support different areas of the warehouse as needed.

Work Environment

This position is based in a warehouse environment working alongside approximately 5–6 colleagues in the department. You will be on your feet for the majority of the day, moving through aisles, lifting boxes up to 50 pounds, and handling materials as part of daily operations. The dress code is casual, with comfortable attire suitable for physical work; open-toed footwear such as flip flops is not permitted for safety reasons. The standard shift runs from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a 1-hour lunch break, Monday through Friday. You will work with basic computer systems such as Excel, Outlook, and internal tracking tools, as well as RF scanners and common material handling equipment, in a clean and organized warehouse focused on safety and teamwork.

This is a Contract position based out of South San Francisco, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
