We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This role is suited for individuals with a strong background in payroll processing and data accuracy. You will play a key part in ensuring timely and precise payment to employees while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Verify new employee information before payroll processing to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Communicate with recently onboarded employees to provide instructions regarding payroll systems.
• Manage payroll data entry tasks with precision and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to support auditing and benefit-related functions.
• Handle accounts payable duties as needed, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Maintain employee records and resolve payroll-related inquiries efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies during payroll operations.
• Support employee relations by addressing payroll concerns and clarifying benefits-related questions.
• Conduct numeric data entry tasks with speed and accuracy to meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in accounting and payroll functions, with experience in accounts payable and auditing.
• Strong data entry skills, including numeric entry, with a focus on accuracy.
• Familiarity with employee relations, particularly in addressing payroll and benefit inquiries.
• Knowledge of relevant payroll systems and processes, including compliance requirements.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with employees and team members.
• High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
