Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available within a K-8 school setting in Burton, MI. This contract role offers a chance to support students with diverse learning needs while working a full 35-hour per week schedule during the academic school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students needs
- Deliver specially designed instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure student success
- Monitor and document student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Engage with families to provide updates and partner in the educational process
- Participate in school meetings and professional development activities related to special education
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with K-8 students in a special education setting
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and behavioral strategies
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to supporting diverse learners
