Controls Engineer | DeWitt, MI
Salary Range: $80,000 - $125,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission PLC and HMI/SCADA systems for manufacturing equipment.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for automation systems to minimize production downtime.
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and detailed system documentation.
- Integrate control systems with robotics, vision systems, and plant-level IT infrastructure.
- Identify and implement process improvements through automation to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Manage or support automation projects from concept through commissioning and validation.
Recommended Qualifications
- Extensive experience programming and troubleshooting industrial PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation).
- Proficiency in designing and developing HMI/SCADA applications for manufacturing processes.
- Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP/IP).
- Demonstrated ability to integrate and commission robotic systems and complex motion control.
- Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving complex control system issues and performing root cause analysis.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with industrial robotics (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, Universal Robots).
- Proficiency in vision system integration (e.g., Cognex, Keyence).
- Experience with SQL databases or process historians (e.g., OSIsoft PI, AspenTech).
- Familiarity with industrial network design and cybersecurity principles.
