Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather information about their health history and physical condition.
- Formulate and execute individualized care plans tailored to each patient's specific needs.
- Offer routine primary healthcare, including preventive measures, wellness checks, and acute care services.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to discuss and manage patient care, ensuring a cohesive treatment approach.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and healthcare needs.
- Prescribe medications following state and federal guidelines and regulations.
- Provide guidance and counseling to patients and their families regarding treatments and care plans.
- Maintain patient records with utmost accuracy and privacy, adhering to medical and legal regulations.
- Regular participation in professional development activities to stay informed about the latest advancements in healthcare practices.
- Lead and support health promotion and disease prevention activities within the practice.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited educational institution.
- Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in adult primary care or internal medicine.
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively communicating with patients, families, and staff in a clear and compassionate manner.
- Demonstrated ability to function independently and collaborate with a multidisciplinary health team.
- Proficiency in the use of medical technologies and electronic health records (EHR).
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
- Valid prescriptive authority in the state of practice, including DEA registration.
