Job Description

*This is a traveling Machinist role*

We cover travel mileage reimbursement, hourly guarantees, daily per diem and long term committments.

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC GibbsCAM Programmer / Machinist with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-tolerance, low-volume manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a machinist who thrives in a true job-shop setting where frequent setups, independent problem-solving, and programming from scratch are part of daily operations.

This is a 50/50 programming and machine operation role focused on precision fixture manufacturing with extremely tight tolerances (±.0001 or better). Candidates must be confident planning setups independently, proving out programs, and maintaining quality ownership throughout the entire manufacturing process.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Program CNC equipment using GibbsCAM from solid models and prints
  • Plan and execute complete setups with no setup sheets or written instructions
  • Program, prove out, and run first-piece parts
  • Operate 1–3 machines depending on workload
  • Machine low volume (typical runs of 1–2 parts) high precision components
  • Perform frequent changeovers and setups
  • Work with tight tolerance parts ±.0001” or better
  • Inspect parts in-process and complete manual documentation
  • Use touch-off probes and tool probes for offsets
  • Build tooling on holders as needed
