Job DescriptionLHH is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Specialist to manage and process payroll accurately and on time for our client. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of payroll regulations, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll requirements. The anticipated pay range for this role is between $35-$37 an hour.

Responsibilities:

· Process weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll accurately and on schedule.

· Review and verify employee time records, pay rates, deductions, and tax withholdings.

· Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data accuracy within payroll systems.

· Calculate and process overtime, bonuses, commissions, and other special payments.

· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.

· Prepare payroll reports for management, accounting, and auditing purposes.

· Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, taxes, and payroll discrepancies.

· Coordinate with Human Resources regarding employee onboarding, terminations, and compensation changes.

· Reconcile payroll accounts and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.

· Support annual payroll activities, including W-2 processing and payroll audits.

· Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.

Qualifications:

· Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

· 2+ years of payroll processing experience.

· Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and wage-and-hour compliance requirements.

· Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems.

· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
