Assignment Length: Minimum 90 Days (Contract to Hire)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Registered Nurse to support Workplace Solutions clinical review and drug testing operations. This role is responsible for reviewing documentation, supporting testing integrity, and ensuring Occupational Health and DOT compliance across a broad customer base.
What You’ll Work On:
• Provide subject matter expertise in executing Drug Testing Services across Workplace Solutions customers.
• Collaborate with drug & alcohol testing staff to uphold clinical review integrity and recommend process improvements with Workplace Operations Leadership.
• Interpret and report Workplace client results in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Review documentation for accuracy, speak with donors over the phone, and determine if legitimate medical explanations exist for non-negative lab results.
• Provide feedback to laboratories and collection site teams regarding performance issues, as needed.
• Deliver guidance to clients and tested individuals on complex or problem cases.
• Support development of annual departmental goals and objectives.
• Ensure adherence to Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Quality policies & procedures.
• Review physical exam documentation for completeness and accuracy following Occupational Health Services processes.
• Follow up with medical providers, clinics, employers, and employee/drivers to correct or obtain required documentation.
• Review medical information to determine DOT compliance and return-to-work eligibility.
• Assess medications reported by DOT drivers to determine need for safety-sensitive letters.
• Identify changes in medical status linked to medication reporting.
• Evaluate donor-submitted records (including lab testing, vaccines/TB tests, and OSHA respirator questionnaires) to determine requirement compliance.
• Provide employers with status updates on cases under medical review.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in Nursing
• Active Registered Nurse License
Preferred Qualifications:
• Call center/phone triage experience
• Certified Occupational Health Nurse (preferred)
• Certified Nurse Case Manager (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred)
Work Environment & Schedule:
• Remote work may be available depending on assignment and performance
• Assignment is 90 days minimum, with transition to full-time
