Position Details:Registered Nurse (RN) - Pre Procedure Phase IIStatus: Full-timeShift: Days, starting at 5:30 AMUnit Overview:

The Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) is situated on the ground floor of the main hospital, conveniently located next to the Operating Room (OR) and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This unit features a 28-bed surgery preparation area and a 32-bed outpatient unit dedicated to pre and postoperative care for both pediatric and adult patients.

Position Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the ASU Nurse Manager, the Pre-Admission Nurse will:

  • Conduct assessments with patients prior to admission, either through phone interviews or in-person meetings
  • Gather patients' medical histories from previous records
  • Collaborate closely with the anesthesia department to address patient needs
  • Provide direct patient care across all age groups
  • Be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with established plans, hospital policies, and care standards
  • Perform all duties in alignment with our mission, values, and service standards

Qualifications:Required:

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program
  • Licensure: Active RN license in the state of practice
  • Experience: At least 1 year of RN experience
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Skills: Strong clinical abilities, effective communication, and a collaborative team spirit

Preferred:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Certifications: ACLS, PALS, and NRP (as required for specific areas; must be kept current)
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of RN experience
