Job Title: Master Control Operator/Broadcast Technician

Duration:6 Months + (Possible Extension/conversion)

Location:

Centennial, CO 80122 -Onsite

Pay Rate:$24 /hour on w2.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Support on-air operations during an upcoming major systems migration.
  • Perform programming quality control, commercial rehearsals, event preparation, and monitoring of on-air programming.
  • Provide break support for other Master Control Operators (MCOs).
  • Maintain and adjust on-air playlists, execute program/commercial/marketing changes, and support live-event and contingency workflows using broadcast automation software.
  • Ensure accurate and seamless commercial integration for both live and prerecorded programming.
  • Contribute to continuous monitoring of 150+ channel streams, identifying inconsistencies with strong attention to detail.
  • Confirm readiness of all materials for on-air playout to maintain uninterrupted programming.
  • Act as the last line of defense by responding quickly to any on-air issues with strong situational awareness.
  • Simulate the viewer experience to verify audio, video, captioning, and overall picture quality.
  • Collaborate closely with operations supervisors and team members to quickly recover from on-air discrepancies.
  • Communicate clearly with production teams to facilitate playlist and automation changes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the Network Operations Center.


Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma plus a relevant certification or Associate’s Degree in media, communications, or related field, OR equivalent experience in broadcast, digital, or post-production environments.
  • Solid understanding of television production, broadcast operations, or technical production for news, sports, or entertainment content.


Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work fully on-site at the designated facility (no remote/hybrid options).
  • Must be available for any shift, including mornings, swing shifts, overnights, weekends, and holidays, depending on operational needs.
  • Must be comfortable viewing all types of content, including mature or repetitive material.


Desired Characteristics:

  • Prior experience in master control or a production control room preferred.
  • Ability to stay calm and make fast decisions in high-pressure environments.
  • Fluent or proficient in Spanish is a plus.
  • Position is temporary (approximately six months) with potential for transition into a full-time Master Control Operator role.
