Job Description
Job Title: 2nd Shift Controls Technician
Location: Shelby Township, MI
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all safety requirements and company policies (IATF 16949, ISO 14001).
- Test, troubleshoot, and implement new processes, automation systems, and robotics.
- Install retrofits, diagnose and repair hardware, software, and instrumentation issues.
- Support start-up activities and ongoing automation process improvements.
- Create and maintain automation processes, testing procedures, and compliance reports.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, robots, scanners, and cameras.
- Provide 24/7 support availability as required.
- Work within a team and support overtime as needed.
Qualifications
- Completion of a 2-year degree or technical certificate program required.
- 3–5 years of manufacturing experience with strong technical knowledge in automation.
- Hands-on expertise with robotics, PLCs, scanners, and cameras.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working Conditions
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for up to 12 hours per shift with frequent walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
- Must wear required PPE in a manufacturing environment.
