Veterinary Dental Specialties is hiring an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician with a passion for dentistry and anesthesia to join our Reno team.

This is a part-time position with 12 hour shifts and there is not a set schedule (weekdays and weekends required). This position earns a competitive wage of $30 to $35 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Intubating patients and inducing anesthesia
• Monitoring anesthesia
• Performing standard dental cleaning and charting
• Performing dental x-rays
• Preparing and administering IV drugs under doctor's supervision
• Preparing go home medication
• Instructing pet parents on surgery aftercare
• Initiating and completing diagnostic tests
• Restraining animals
• Preparing estimates and collecting payment
• Clean and disinfect surgery tables, floors and equipment
• Ensures any supplies needing replenishment are reported to the Practice/Purchasing manager
• Stocks supplies and drugs received
• Maintain drug logs
• Report equipment failures to Practice Manager
• Mentoring new employees and visitors

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

• Two or more years of experience performing the above duties. (Required)
• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) (Required)
• Able to perform moderately physically demanding work that requires a lot of lifting (up to 50 pounds), cleaning, and constant motion.
• Must pass a background and drug screening (THC not tested)
