Description:
The role of the Hearing Instrument Specialist is to support the Medical and Audiology terms within the organization and their patients through fitting and dispensing of hearing instruments.
Essential Functions:
1. Performs Otoscopies;
2. Obtains case history;
3. Performs Tympanometry;
4. Performs Pure tone Air, Bone and Speech Audiometry;
5. Performs hearing aid consultations;
6. Performs hearing aid fittings, programming, adjustments and repairs;
7. Performs hearing aid verification through Real Ear and functional gain;
8. Performs earmold impressions;
9. Answers incoming phone calls;
10. Schedules appointments via the clinic's patient management software;
11. Assists in daily department setup and closure;
12. Inputs all needed information into an electronic patient management system;
13. Performs hearing aid checks, cleanings, and repairs;
14. Assists audiologists with hearing aid orders, exchanges or returns and hearing aid repairs/maintenance.
15. Maintains organization of lab, including general maintenance and cleaning of instruments;
16. Uses Electronic Medical Records for scheduling patients and writing chart notes;
17. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent and NC Hearing Aid and Fitters License required
