Onboard Systems Hoist & Winch, located in Anaheim, CA is one of the world’s leading providers of Search & Rescue (SAR) and Human External Cargo (HEC) advanced mission equipment for civil, commercial, and military helicopters.
The Onboard Systems Technical Training Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for employees within the organization. The Technical Training Specialist works to enhance employee knowledge, skills, and performance by identifying training needs, creating learning materials, and facilitating training sessions. The person in this role supports individual and organizational growth and is a key contributor to overall customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities of the technical training specialist include:
- Performs training assessment: Conducting analysis to identify training gaps and determine specific learning requirements across different departments or employee levels.
- Curriculum development: Designing training programs, including course outlines, learning objectives, and instructional materials (e.g., manual, presentations, online modules).
- Training delivery: Facilitating training sessions using various methods like classroom instruction, e-learning platforms, simulations, or workshops.
- Evaluation and feedback: Measuring the effectiveness of training programs through post-training assessments, surveys, and performance monitoring to identify areas for improvement.
- Organizational collaboration: Working closely with managers, subject matter experts, and HR to align training initiatives with organizational goals.
- Maintaining training records: Tracking participant attendance, completion rates, and other relevant data to ensure compliance and reporting.
Requirements:
Essential skills for a training specialist: 5+ years' experience or equivalent
- Instructional design principles: Understanding adult learning theories and best practices for effective training delivery
- Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication to clearly convey information and engage trainees
- Presentation skills: Ability to deliver engaging and impactful training sessions
- Facilitation skills: Leading group discussions, managing diverse learning styles, and fostering active participation
- Technical proficiency: Extensive hands-on experience and expertise in conducting training exercises to include build up and tear down of Onboard Systems products. Must be comfortable in production, laboratory and classroom environments and giving hands-on demonstrations of how technical products are correctly assembled and tested.
- Analytical skills: Evaluating training data to measure impact and make necessary adjustments
