The role of the Registered Nurse in Medical Progressive Care involves delivering thorough patient care through a nursing framework while collaborating with various departments. This position necessitates the upkeep of licensure and certifications, including BLS and ACLS, along with a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and rights. The job entails physical tasks such as lifting and extended periods of standing, highlighting the importance of both clinical expertise and a patient-focused approach in a team-oriented hospital environment.

Utilizes our Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing methodologies to deliver exceptional patient care. Holds professional accountability for the care provided to assigned patients. Works in coordination with other departments to ensure comprehensive patient care while safeguarding patient rights and confidentiality.

Position Details:

  • Education: Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
  • Licensure: Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a valid RN license in the state of employment or compact licensure, fulfilling all state board of nursing requirements.
  • Experience: Relevant experience is preferred.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or completion of the course within 30 days of hire.
    • Additional certifications may be required based on the specific position or unit, or must be obtained within the designated timeframe, including:
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
      • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
      • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
      • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
      • CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse)
      • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
      • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
      • PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
      • S.T.A.B.L.E. (Six Assessment & Care Modules)
      • C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
      • Other unit-specific certifications as necessary

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to regularly push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing and walking are required throughout each shift.
  • Capability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to fulfill job responsibilities.
