Job Summary
As a General Laborer at Blue Jay Communications, you will support telecommunications construction crews by assisting with site preparation, material handling, cable installation activities, and general labor duties. This role is essential to maintaining safe, organized, and efficient job sites while helping deliver high-quality telecommunications infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily construction activities including pulling cable, digging, loading materials, and using hand tools.
- Stock and load trucks with materials, tools, and equipment for job sites.
- Complete daily equipment safety inspections and basic maintenance checks.
- Read and interpret blueprints and work assignments.
- Assist with traffic control and job site safety procedures.
- Organize materials, tools, and equipment to support efficient operations.
- Perform general cleanup and maintenance of trucks, equipment, and work areas.
- Complete required company documentation accurately and on time.
- Reconcile issued materials and parts to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work assigned shifts, including overtime when necessary.
Requirements:
Qualifications
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting, climbing, bending, standing, and crawling.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
