PGM Internship - 2026
JOB SUMMARY:
At the Cliffs Communities, qualified internships are offered in all of our business functions and at many of our locations. Internships provide students with an opportunity to provide professional support and become an integral part of a business team. Our interns have the chance to learn while making a real contribution to the company. They become a part of key management meetings, receive meaningful projects and have access to senior management. Each intern is assigned a supervisor who assigns projects, answers questions and provides guidance. Throughout the entire experience, goals are identified, and interns receive feedback and informal mentoring. An internship provides an excellent opportunity to develop relationships with other professionals in the company as well as other interns.
As a Professional Golf Management Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn all aspects in your field while applying what you have learned in classrooms to practical situations as well as various other opportunities to develop professionally.
JOB DUTIES:
Throughout this internship, the student will be exposed to various outlets related to Clubhouse management including the following positions: Head Professional, Assistant Professional, Golf Shop Manager, Outside Staff, and others. You will be exposed to each of these areas and learn how the daily operations are run, including exposure to purchasing, taking inventory, locker room services, tournament planning and execution, and The Cliffs vision and mission.
Outside Golf Operations – Assist with the organization of the cart barn, ordering supplies, range maintenance and setup, cart maintenance and staging, servicing cart fleet, handling member and guest arrivals/departures, work closely with starter and assistant pros to manage the first tee and service laps, opening and closing procedures.
Inside Golf Operations – Assist with tee sheet management, handling member and guest arrivals, planning and execution of clinics, special order process, assisting with demo days, club fitting process, and work with staff professionals to complete the required PGM books.
Tournament Operations/Coordinator – Assist with the planning of member tournaments and have the opportunity of planning and executing a member event as the lead professional. This will allow the intern to work directly with food and beverage and the culinary department.
Merchandising – Assist with selecting and buying product, merchandising, inventory control, receiving merchandise, special order process, and be exposed to the overall buying strategy.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (Skills):
This qualifying internship is designed for current, active students to gain experience and knowledge in their directly related field. Interns are responsible for their own transportation during the duration of their internship as each intern will have separate schedules.
Interns are paid an hourly rate with the ability to earn extra income through individual and group lessons as well as club repair. Uses of amenities are also included such as golf, discounts at dining facilities and the golf shop.
