Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-time Special Education teaching position is located in Rockford, IL, serving K-12 students in a contract role for the current school year. The position involves working onsite with students requiring self-contained autism or low incidence support in an elementary or middle school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of up to 13 students in a self-contained classroom focused on autism or low incidence disabilities.
- Elementary schedule: 7:30 AM to 2:45 PM.
- Middle school schedule: 8:45 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with staff and families to support student progress and well-being.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Special Education teaching license.
- Experience working with elementary or middle school students in self-contained autism or low incidence classrooms is highly desired.
- Strong understanding of special education methodologies and compliance with state regulations.
