We are a high-energy, fast-paced telehealth company seeking a Sterile Compounding Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy Operations, this person will lead the strategy, execution, and growth of our sterile compounding pharmacy initiatives, including the construction of a sterile compounding facility in Florida. This is a highly visible role that will have a profound impact on the success of the entire business.

Position Overview:
The Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) is responsible for the overall management and operation of the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and professional standards. This role provides leadership and oversight of pharmacy operations, including sterile compounding activities, quality assurance, and staff performance. The PIC collaborates closely with pharmacy staff to maintain efficient workflows and deliver a high standard of patient care and customer service.
The ideal candidate is a licensed pharmacist with a minimum of 4–5 years of professional pharmacy experience, including at least 2–3 years in a sterile compounding pharmacy environment, and demonstrates strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of scaling a sterile & non-sterile compounding facility.
- Establish and lead a culture of regulatory compliance, quality, and standards to enable compliant pharmacy operations.
- Lead internal auditing, inspections, root cause analysis and corrective actions plans.
- Prepare for and lead all state board and organizational accreditation and regulatory inspections.
- Develop, maintain, and implement policies and procedures and quality systems in line with state and federal law regarding pharmaceutical operations.
- Develop mechanisms and cadences to implement and maintain USP 795, 797, and 800 standards at all times.
- Build policies and operations mechanisms around environmental monitoring of an ISO environment.
- Staying up-to-date with any legal or regulatory changes.
- Compound medications by measuring, mixing, and packaging the necessary ingredients according to the prescription.
- Coordinate with new product development teams to begin production of novel products and sterile compounds in line with patient demand and order volume.
- Hire, train, and supervise a team of pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians on pharmacy operations and compounding techniques.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to determine the appropriate medication therapy for each patient.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in the field of compounding.
- Process prescriptions, maintain inventory levels,
- Acquire and manage vendor relationships with API Manufacturers to reduce production costs.
- Sets the standard for rigorous adherence to high work ethic, productivity and commitment by exemplifying these traits and leading by example.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent (required)
- Current Resident Pharmacist license from the Florida Board of Pharmacy in good standing.(required.)
- Active pharmacist licensure in multiple U.S. states strongly preferred
- Currently possess or able to acquire DEA Registration in good standing (required)
- Minimum 4-5 years of pharmacy experience (required)
- Minimum of 2-3 years of sterile compounding experience (required)
- Experience with both hazardous and non-hazardous compounding (required.)
- Experience with and strong knowledge of USP 795, 797, and 800 standards (required.)
- BCSCP credentialed (Board-Certified Sterile Compounding Pharmacist) strongly preferred
- Experience in leadership and managing a team of pharmacy technicians
- Experience launching new pharmacy facilities including build-out and construction as well as vendor management strongly preferred.

Work Environment
- Pharmacy warehouse setting
- Exposure to refrigerated and controlled room temperature areas
- Moderate noise level typical of warehouse operations
- High level of regulatory oversight and documentation requirements
Physical Requirements:
Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, perform repetitive motions, work in temperature-controlled and refrigerated environments, and maintain attention to detail while handling pharmaceutical products in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Salary range: $158,000 - $169,000 annually
