Friends of Switchpoint is a non-profit organization that has been serving individuals, families, and veterans in Utah who are experiencing poverty and homelessness since 2014.

PURPOSE: To produce and distribute freshly roasted coffee to customers and vendors statewide. We are not just another coffee roastery; we have a mission to support our community through micro-business initiatives and community support services at Switchpoint. 100% of our proceeds go directly to ending homelessness in our local communities.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
- Take customer orders using Clover POS system, cash, and Venmo.
- Prepare and serve drinks and cookies.
- Clean customer seating areas, empty trash, and maintain bathroom cleanliness.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
- Ensure all supplies are organized and stored properly.
- Report employee safety, food safety, and quality concerns to Lead Barista or Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Learn about and share knowledge of Switchpoint Coffee Co. with customers.
- Assist Lead Barista, manager, and volunteers with other assigned tasks.
- Provide excellent customer service, creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels of coffee, supplies, and other items, notifying the manager when reordering is needed.
- Stay informed about coffee blends, brewing methods, and menu items to make recommendations to customers.
- Collaborate with team members and support volunteers as needed.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer service or food service is advantageous but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and cash.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a busy environment with varying temperatures.

Compensation
Starting pay $14/hour
