Provide critical emergency nursing care in a dynamic hospital environment located in Papaaloa, HI. This contract opportunity offers a chance to apply your expertise in an ER setting while supporting a diverse patient population. Candidates must hold an active Hawaii RN license by the start date and be prepared to attend an employee health appointment the Thursday before starting.
Responsibilities include performing acute care procedures, managing stroke, STEMI, and trauma activations, and utilizing a range of medical equipment such as LifePak defibrillators, Braun IV pumps, Philips monitoring systems, and Motorola radios. The role requires multitasking and independent decision-making in fast-paced situations using the Meditech EMR system. Adherence to core quality measures and patient safety goals is essential, alongside delivering customer-focused care aligned with AIDET communication and Press Ganey standards.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with active Hawaii RN license required by assignment start
- Minimum 2 years ER nursing experience
- Proficient IV skills and emergency procedure competencies
- Advanced certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, TNCC, NIHSS (mandatory)
- NCI and Procedural Sedation certifications preferred but not required
- Familiarity with stroke, STEMI, and trauma protocols
- Skilled in Meditech EMR and emergency equipment usage
Schedule:
- Variable 8- or 12-hour shifts totaling 80 hours biweekly
- One on-call shift per rotation
- At least one weekend off per roster
- Floating to other clinical units based on skills and management discretion
