Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in distributing prescription medications using advanced fulfillment systems. You will ensure the accuracy of patient demographics and prescription data, while providing excellent customer service and resolving insurance billing issues.

Responsibilities

  • Enter patient demographics and prescription data into processing systems.
  • Resolve claim rejects and insurance billing issues.
  • Escalate prescription-related questions to pharmacists for interpretation.
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls with patients and physicians.
  • Operate automated machinery to sort, count, label, pack, and ship prescriptions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and assist with machine upkeep.
  • Identify and communicate issues to senior staff as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and quality control standards.

Essential Skills

  • Pharmacy technician certification (not required).
  • Experience with prescription fulfillment including counting, labeling, packing, and shipping medications using automated systems.
  • Ability to enter patient and prescription data accurately.
  • Skill in resolving third-party claim rejects and resubmitting for processing.
  • Comfortable handling inbound/outbound calls with patients and physicians.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with PC operations and internet navigation.
  • Typing speed of at least 25 WPM.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Customer service experience in pharmacy or healthcare settings.
  • Advanced typing skills of 35+ WPM and formatting proficiency.
  • Ability to interpret SIG codes and resolve data entry exceptions.
  • Experience with automated pharmacy machinery and inventory workflows.

Work Environment

This position is based at a fully onsite, automated, high-volume prescription fulfillment center in Bolingbrook, IL. The role requires working overnight shifts from Monday to Wednesday, 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM, totaling 30 hours per week. Initial training will commence on Monday and take place from 4:30 PM to 12:30 AM, Monday through Thursday, for the first week. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
