Job Title: A&P Technician
Job Description
The R&D Lab Technician is expected to have a strong understanding of aircraft manufacturing processes and perform maintenance tasks to ensure quality and efficiency. The role requires expertise in the fabrication and repair of CFRP and GFRP components, ensuring all work meets high standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain full traceability of parts and processes by recording completed work.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on technical matters.
- Coordinate with engineers to execute engineering work orders, including hands-on fabrication, processing, and testing of aircraft components.
- Document completed work in maintenance reports.
- Install and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Fabricate parts using tools such as a soldering iron, lathe, and milling machine.
- Keep management and teams fully informed of progress and issues.
- Author and update standard operating procedures.
- Provide guidance and knowledge to less experienced team members.
- Offer feedback to the team and team lead.
- Ensure the shop premises are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion.
Essential Skills
- Solid understanding of aircraft manufacturing processes.
- Proven knowledge in the fabrication and repair of CFRP and GFRP components.
- Ability to perform maintenance tasks to a high standard.
- Experience in electrical work, wire harness assembly, and fabrication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
- Experience documenting maintenance work and updating reports.
- Skill in using tools like soldering irons, lathes, and milling machines.
- Strong communication skills to keep management and teams informed.
Work Environment
The role involves hands-on work in a lab environment, collaborating closely with engineering teams. The technician will work with mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring the shop remains clean and organized. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Torrance, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $48.00/hr.
