Position: NPI Manager
Location: Nashua, NH
Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. Our global headquarters are in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a New Product Introduction Manager to join our team. The position will be located in our Nashua site location.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and own the new product introduction process of our high speed backplane product group by supporting the design and development cycle, tooling schedules, and verification and testing process into and throughout the release and ramp to high volume manufacturing.
- Manage and own the integration of the Product Development, Product Marketing, customer requirements, supplier requirements, operational metrics, and cost and time schedules supporting overall business objectives
- Manage product and process quality, with a primary focus on new product introduction as well as legacy volume production, to meet customer satisfaction and business unit metrics.
- Responsible for business unit level metrics and improvement initiatives; involves monthly reporting and review with the BU leadership team.
- Ownership of design for manufacturability, optimized cost and scalability
- Ownership of development of manufacturing strategies, process flows, control plans, critical to function (CTF) criteria, DFMEA, PFMEA, CP, QP, and process documentation
- Coordinate and manage internal and 3rd party testing & product qualifications supporting both industry accepted requirements as well as developing application specific testing that may be beyond traditional industry standards.
- Analyze qualification test data to ensure products meet performance and reliability standards.
- Address issues identified during qualification with Product Development teams, NPI teams, and Product Integrity teams.
- Develop and release products & processes to our low cost manufacturing facilities.
- Implement data collection and key inspection points for critical processes with real time feed back to the assembly process
- Define the scope of work for automated equipment, including quotation, purchase and implementation
- Identify and facilitate a variety of project initiatives such as cost improvement, overall quality and product performance
- Research, evaluate and implement new manufacturing processes and techniques to support next generation products
- Domestic and international travel up to 50%
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Engineering, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering or manufacturing operations.
- Management experience with strong supervisory and leadership skills and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated history of working with teams in multiple geographies, international included.
- Experience in Asia manufacturing locations a plus.
- Working knowledge and proven leadership in continuous improvement activities and formal quality management programs (DMAIC and 8D).
- Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, CP, QP
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
- Proficiency in Minitab or other statistical tool software preferred.
- Understanding of product documentation and technical drawings with emphasis on GD&T.
- Knowledgeable in semiconductor and interconnect industry manufacturing processes and standards
