Overview
Rovex is seeking a Director of Operations & Finance to partner directly with the CEO in building the financial and organizational foundation of a high-growth, pre-revenue medical robotics company.
This role exists to bring structure, financial clarity, and operational discipline to a fast-scaling team. The position is designed to develop into a COO role within 12 months based on performance and company needs.

Rovex is a medical robotics company building autonomous systems to improve hospital operations and patient care. Our robots are designed to handle critical, repeatable tasks such as patient transport, hospital mapping, and real-time environment monitoring, freeing up healthcare staff to focus on higher-value care.
We are an early-stage, high-growth company working closely with hospital partners to deploy and refine our technology in real-world environments. Our mission is to increase efficiency, reduce operational strain, and elevate the quality of care within healthcare systems.

Core Responsibilities
1. Financial Stewardship
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and runway planning
- Build revenue and expense models
- Deliver clear monthly financial summaries for leadership and stakeholders
- Oversee external bookkeeping/accounting relationship, support annual files and compliance items
- Improve purchasing discipline, approvals, and spend visibility
2. Business Operations Leadership
- Lead and develop the Business Operations team (business operations associates and future hires)
- Set priorities, assign ownership, and ensure high-quality execution across day-to-day operations
- Build hiring plans aligned to capital and growth strategy
- Lead recruiting process design, onboarding, and accountability chart
- Establish KPIs, reporting cadence, and company scorecards
- Implement company-wide scalable internal processes as the team grows (weekly priorities, monthly reviews, quarterly planning)
- Own vendor relationships and contract coordination (insurance, service providers, tooling, etc.)
3. People Operations
- Develop a thriving company culture aligned with values
- Set clear standards and performance systems (expectations, feedback cadence)
- Build hiring plans aligned to capital strategy and product milestones
- Support compensation planning and future benefits rollout
- Prepare the organization for executive hires, including a future CFO
4. Workplace & Facilities Oversight
- Ensure the workplace runs smoothly through routines, vendors, and checklists (cleaning, supplies, access)
- Coordinate facility upgrades and contractor work (scope, bids, timelines, punch lists)
- Maintain basic safety and workplace readiness so engineering time stays protected

- Clear financial visibility with future projections including runway sensitivity
- Structured, efficient, effective hiring and onboarding
- Defined operating rhythms across teams
- Facilities and vendors running smoothly without CEO involvement
- CEO freed to focus on product, partnerships, and capital
Requirements
Core Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in operations, finance, or a hybrid role (e.g., BizOps, Chief of Staff, Head of Operations, or similar)
- Proven ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning (FP&A), including building and managing models
- Experience operating in a high-growth or early-stage environment (startup, new business unit, or 0→1 initiative)
- Demonstrated experience building and implementing internal processes, systems, and operating cadences
- Experience leading or managing cross-functional teams and driving accountability
Additional Requirements
- Strong operator with high ownership who can translate strategy into execution in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
- Solid financial, analytical, and systems-building skills, with ability to manage budgets, vendors, and communicate insights clearly

Benefits
- Salary: $70,000–$85,000, based on experience
- Equity: Eligible for Restricted Stock Awards (RSAs) with meaningful upside tied to company growth
