Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with Poly (required)
Terms: Full-Time, Exempt (Employed by the Client)
Reports To: Program or Government Lead / Contract Leadership
Schedule: Standard Business Hours (flexibility may be required in high-tempo environments)
Compensation: $130,000 – $170,000 annually

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a premier mission-focused organization to identify a Senior Acquisition Consultant (CAAS) supporting a customer at Fort Meade, MD. This role is designed for a senior acquisition professional who can lead full life-cycle acquisition efforts in support of complex cyberspace operations and multi-stakeholder federal environments—delivering compliant documentation, sharp analysis, and execution discipline from pre-award through post-award.

Job Overview

The Senior Acquisition Consultant provides strategic acquisition and contract management expertise supporting complex operations and high-visibility programs. The role leads end-to-end acquisition activities, ensures alignment with FAR/DFARS and applicable DoD guidance, and produces high-quality acquisition documentation, executive-level reporting, and program management support products in classified environments.

Key ResponsibilitiesFull Life-Cycle Acquisition Execution (30%)

  • Lead and execute all phases of the acquisition life cycle, including pre-award, award, and post-award activities.
  • Provide advisory support to Government program managers and contracting officers.

Acquisition Documentation & Package Development (25%)

  • Develop and manage acquisition documentation, including: acquisition strategies/plans, SOW/PWS/SOO, IGCE, market research reports, and justifications/approvals.
  • Ensure documentation quality, traceability, and compliance with DoD/Federal standards.

Analysis, Cost/Procurement Support & Compliance (20%)

  • Conduct data collection, cost analysis, and procurement analysis to support acquisition decisions.
  • Perform invoice review/analysis to ensure contractual compliance and funding accuracy.
  • Ensure acquisition activities align with FAR, DFARS, and applicable DoD regulatory and legislative guidance.

Deliverable Management & Performance Tracking (15%)

  • Manage contract deliverables, track performance metrics, and ensure timely submission and acceptance.
  • Coordinate actions, documentation, and milestones across technical, contracting, financial, and operational stakeholders.

Executive Communication & Program Management Support (10%)

  • Develop executive briefings, status reports, dashboards, and ad hoc acquisition products to meet customer needs.
  • Apply project management principles to manage schedules, risks, dependencies, and action tracking through completion.

Job Scope

This position operates within a classified, high-tempo environment supporting IT and cyberspace-related contracting and acquisition efforts. Success requires independent execution, strong stakeholder coordination, impeccable documentation, and disciplined tracking of actions and deliverables through completion.

Skills & ExperienceMinimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Education/Experience: Master's degree in a relevant field and 10+ years of related experience; in lieu of a Master's, a Bachelor's degree plus an additional 2 years of experience may be substituted.
  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI with Poly (required).
  • 10+ years of contract management experience performing acquisition life-cycle activities, including pre-award/award/post-award; documentation development; data collection/analysis; invoice review; deliverable tracking; and creation of briefings/status products.
  • 5+ years implementing project management principles to manage/track acquisition actions, documents, and tasks through completion.
  • 5+ years supporting Federal and/or DoD acquisitions.
  • Demonstrated experience working in complex cyberspace operations and/or multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Strong knowledge of FAR and DFARS; ability to operate in classified environments.
  • Advanced written/verbal communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and acquisition tracking tools; ability to manage competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active PMI PfMP certification.
  • CPCM and/or CFCM certification.
  • Experience using official DoD frameworks to manage acquisition programs (e.g., DoDD 5000.02).
  • Experience with technical writing/documentation of complex cyber/technical concepts.
  • Experience supporting IT contracting, task order management, cyber/IT modernization, or mission systems acquisition programs.
  • Familiarity with earned value management (EVM) principles and support to mission-critical/high-visibility programs.
