Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Construction Manager (CM) to support the construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities and utilities located in Jacksonville, Florida. The CM will be responsible for the construction, coordination, documentation and inspection activities for various water and wastewater facilities. Travel within the area may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
Generally, job duties will be to lead and complete construction management tasks and assignments and interface with clients as it relates to the delivery of water and wastewater treatment related projects. You will be responsible for projects throughout the construction and commissioning lifecycle, conducting construction observation, be responsible for effectively managing Hazen's quality, schedules and budgets, and serve as a mentor to other inspectors and engineering staff. More specifically, job duties may include:
- Conducting on-site observations, monitoring, inspection, and evaluation of construction activities to ensure compliance with Contract Drawings and Specifications.
- Reviewing and assisting with requests for proposals and verifying material quantities.
- Verifying and tracking work in accordance with approved shop drawing submittals.
- Assisting with the processing and reviewing of RFIs and shop drawings prepared by the Contractor.
- Reviews Contractor's schedules, monthly pay estimates, and manages the review of change orders.
- Assisting and coordinating with project start-up testing, checkout, and training activities.
- Coordinating and facilitating communication between the Contractor and Owner to ensure construction activities do not impact Owner operations.
- Coordinating and communicating with multi-discipline Hazen teams, owner, contractor, and third-party inspection/testing firms.
- Using cloud-based software for project documentation such as PROCORE, Unifier e-Builder, Autodesk Construction Cloud, etc.
- Assisting Hazen engineering design teams to provide constructability reviews and VE reviews.
Required Qualifications:
- 15+ years relevant construction experience in heavy civil, mechanical and/or electrical construction, preferably in the water/wastewater industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction methods typical of civil, structural, and mechanical engineering, and construction materials testing.
- Understands and is proficient with standard construction contract language, risk and claims management.
- Applicants must have a valid driver's license and method of transportation.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Able to easily move around active construction site safely and effectively.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) are required and the ability to learn construction specific software use (i.e., Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, Bluebeam, etc.).
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM), OSHA 10 certification and/or other industry certifications are plus.
- Jacksonville Metropolitan residence or willingness to transfer a plus; willingness to consider per diem expenses for weekly commute.
