Summary
Our fast-growing creative and technical team is looking for an experienced sound effects editor to support our sound team in the creation of client Immersive Videos for ? Vision Pro. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sound design and effects editing for immersive formats, with a curiosity in adapting these creative workflows to new media experiences.
Key Qualifications
• 7+ years experience in post-production sound with a strong focus on sound effects editorial and sound design, particularly for surround and immersive audio formats
• Passion for telling stories and creating environments with sound
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Proficiency with Pro Tools and Soundminer, including metadata workflows and organizing sound libraries
• Extensive experience editing multichannel recordings, including all common surround formats and Ambisonic
• Technical proficiency with ability to adapt quickly to new tools and workflows still in active development
• Open-minded approach to exploring new techniques and methodologies
• Comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with clients, partners, and leads
Description
The Sound Effects Editor will join an in-house sound team, working closely with our Audio Lead and the broader team to craft compelling immersive soundscapes.
You will design sounds and edit effects for a variety of genres and in a variety of styles with an intense focus on building immersion through sound.
Your work will involve taking traditional sound editing experience as a foundation and building on it to create experiences that feel alive and real.
On some projects, a rough premix may also be required.
Education & Experience
BA/BS or equivalent experience.
Additional Requirements
• Experience with non-traditional media formats (VR, interactive, or gaming) strongly preferred
• Experience with Reaper preferred, but not required
• Experience with multichannel recording techniques a plus
• Basic experience in using the command line to invoke apps and scripts
