Position Summary

The BCBA Clinical Consultant provides clinical oversight, staff development, and fidelity monitoring to ensure quality behavioral support within CSS’s Behavioral Department. This position assists in maintaining best practice standards across behavioral programming, documentation, and staff competency. The Clinical Consultant works closely with clinical and direct support staff to strengthen behavioral service delivery, provide mentorship, and promote a person-centered approach aligned with CSS’s mission and values.

Essential Functions

  1. Provide clinical consultation and oversight for CSS Behavioral Department staff, ensuring compliance with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and CSS standards.

  2. Conduct case reviews and assist staff with behavior intervention planning, documentation quality, and data analysis.

  3. Deliver intensive supervision sessions for clinical and behavioral staff to support skill development and improve intervention fidelity.

  4. Develop, review, and implement clinical note templates and documentation systems to support accuracy and efficiency.

  5. Conduct research and synthesize best practices relevant to behavioral health and IDD service delivery.

  6. Provide consultation and coaching to clinical staff to enhance service quality and ensure consistent application of evidence-based practices.

  7. Facilitate group or one-on-one training sessions as needed, either virtually or in-person.

  8. Maintain detailed and accurate records of consultation hours, supervision sessions, and administrative tasks.

  9. Collaborate with the Director of Behavioral Services and department leadership to identify and address system-wide clinical training needs.

  10. Participate in administrative planning and evaluation meetings as scheduled.

  11. Travel to service sites as required for in-person consultation and staff development.

  12. Perform other related duties as assigned to support CSS’s Behavioral Department.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Strong knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, functional assessment, and positive behavior support strategies.

  2. Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff across varied levels of experience.

  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  4. Proficient in clinical documentation, electronic record keeping, and quality assurance.

  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in both virtual and in-person environments.

  6. Strong organizational and time management skills.

Required Education

Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or related field required.

Qualifications

  1. Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and certification must be in good standing. A copy of the certification must be provided and on file in Human Resources (HR) and each renewal thereafter.

  2. Current Missouri state licensure to practice Behavioral Analysis. A copy of the licensure must be provided and on file in HR and each renewal thereafter.

  3. Minimum of five years of professional experience providing behavioral services to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

  4. Experience in clinical supervision, staff training, and program development preferred.

Physical Requirements

All employees should possess the ability to:

  1. Lift 50 pounds or more on a repeated basis as required.

  2. Potentially bend, stoop, kneel, and twist repeatedly.

  3. Operate any required equipment with good dexterity.

  4. Traverse changing terrain.

  5. Periodically alternate between standing, sitting, and walking.
