Who You Are
As a Supply Chain professional at Pelsue, you are analytical, strategic, and ready to ensure the smooth flow of materials and products from suppliers through production and on to customers. You take Ownership of supply planning, vendor relationships, and inventory management, while demonstrating Discipline in maintaining efficient processes and timely deliveries. At higher levels, you have the added responsibility of overseeing Procurement, Logistics, and Planning on a company-wide scale and building strategic supply partnerships
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supply Chain Manager
- Strategic Procurement & Supplier Partnerships
- Manage procurement of assigned commodities, ensuring stable inventory levels.
- Negotiate contracts and build relationships with key suppliers.
- Identify potential new suppliers to improve cost, quality, and lead times.
- Inventory Management & Scheduling
- Support and refine inventory control processes, ensuring accurate forecasting.
- Collaborate with planners and production teams to align material availability with production schedules.
- Support regular audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor Level 1 Supply Chain Analysts or coordinators.
- Provide training on best practices in procurement, scheduling, and supplier management.
- Overall Supply Chain Responsibility
- Own the end-to-end Supply Chain, including Procurement, Logistics, and Planning.
- Develop and execute the long-term supply chain vision and strategies to support corporate goals.
- Logistics & Planning Oversight
- Ensure alignment between logistics operations and production planning for seamless material flow.
- Direct and optimize inbound/outbound logistics, warehouse management, and distribution strategies.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders (Operations, Finance, Engineering) for integrated planning.
- Strategic Supplier Partnerships & Risk Management
- Establish and manage strategic partnerships with critical suppliers, focusing on cost reduction, quality, and reliability.
- Drive risk mitigation strategies (e.g., dual sourcing, inventory buffers) to minimize supply disruptions.
- Lead complex negotiations and supplier performance reviews.
- Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Mentor and oversee Supply Chain staff across all levels, building a high-performing team.
- Implement process improvements to enhance resilience, reduce costs, and drive operational excellence.
COMPETENCIES

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees Material Handlers, Supply Chain Specialists, procurement staff and planning department; responsible for mentoring and coaching.
- Has broad leadership over Procurement, Logistics, and Planning teams; sets strategic direction for the entire Supply Chain function.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Primarily office-based with regular interaction on the production floor and in warehouse areas.
- Some exposure to noise and moving equipment while visiting production/warehouse sections.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer.
- Occasional walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- This is a full-time, in-person position.
- Standard days and hours: Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Overtime may be required based on business needs.
TRAVEL
- May require additional travel for strategic supplier meetings, audits, or conferences.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- 7+ years in a senior or strategic supply chain role with responsibility for Procurement, Logistics, and/or Planning.
- 5-7 years working in manufacturing (industrial equipment, vehicle, tooling, etc.)
- Computer Skills: ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar), Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), data analysis tools.
- Certifications: APICS (CPIM, CSCP), ISM (CPSM) or related certifications are a plus.
