Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A rewarding opportunity is available for a registered nurse experienced in step-down care, providing critical patient support in a progressive clinical environment. This contract position is based in Blue Springs, MO, offering the chance to work in a focused PCU setting catering to high-acuity patients.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an RN in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Competency with high acuity drip management preferred
- Experience with arterial line monitoring and bipap-airvo devices is a plus
- Current RN license, ACLS and BLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
- Ability to work in a nicotine-free facility setting
Schedule & Location:
- 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- Every other weekend rotation
- Major holiday work required with manager collaboration for potential off days
- Orientation held Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM on scheduled dates
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to PCU patients with complex medical needs
- Monitor hemodynamic status including arterial line assessments
- Administer and manage drips and respiratory support devices effectively
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain compliance with facility policies and quality standards in a nicotine-free environment
